18. Invention, intellectual property and income¶
This week I worked on determining the invention, intellectual property and income of my final project.
Assignement:
develop a plan for dissemination of your final project
prepare drafts of your summary slide (presentation.png, 1920x1080)
and video clip (presentation.mp4, 1080p HTML5, < ~minute, < ~10 MB)
and put them in your root directory
Plan for dissemination¶
My final project is a smart tap for van. Because I am not interesting in having patents, it takes time and money, and I don’t have both. Because my work can help others to create their own smart tap in a van, I choose this license for my work: Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0)
That means that people can copy my work, modify it but they have to give me credits is they were inspired by my work. Because I want my project not use by industries, the materials will not use for commercial purposes.
I will share the plans of my tap on this website, and people are free to look at it if they want to create their own tap for their van or whatever.
Summary slide¶
My ideas for the slide:
- having each part of the project separately and the final shape that is building with all the parts
- 3D printing tap
- support for the sink laser cutting
- electronic board
- 3D printing support for sonar sensors
- 3D printing peristaltic pump
Here is some images I would like to add on my slide:
The inside of the box with the sonar:
The elctronic board plugged:
The front packaging:
Prorgamming:
The stuffing of the board:
The final electronic board:

Video clip¶
My ideas for the video clip:
show the differents processes used to create this smart tap and the final piece working
- 3D printing the tap and the pump
- laser cutting for the support for the sink
- milling the elctronic board
-
picture of the board soldered
-
and the tap working that flow water and the hands can be washed
Here is the line of code I used to speed up the videos with ffmpeg:
ffmpeg -itsscale 0.5 -i video.MP4 -vf scale="192:-1" vid.mp4
Here is some parts of my final video:
3D printing:
Electronic milling:
The motor working according to the sonar detection:
