Applications and Implications

In this week, i had to define my final project, to understand what's next and how things must be evolving from now on.

My project should incorporate 2D and 3D design, additive and subtractive fabrication processes, electronics design and production, embedded microcontroller interfacing and programming, system integration and packaging.

So, i continue working on the hexagon lattice, designed some weeks ago, but integrating certain new parameters, however, after designing a little bit more deeper, i wanted to focus myself in implementing the idea of the light towards a sensory feeling in architecture, and will use the next things as described below:

Architectural model, interior design - responsive light

 

         What will it do:

Through sensors, the piece will be able to light by approach or change and measure distance

         What will you design?

A series of little pieces that merge together to create a bigger part, so it could be responsive as a background o frontal layer, the main idea is to test this responsive light in an architectural model.

 

         What materials and components will be used?

Acrylic and/or plastic

PCB board

LED lights, over 20 pieces.

LCD crystal screen

HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Module Distance Sensor x2

12V AC-to-AC Wall Adapter Power Supply

 

         Where will come from?

FabLab stock

Acrylic store (raw material)

         How much will they cost?

Around $45-$50 (usd) plus "mistakes" during development

         What processes will be used?

The main idea follows the fact of sensible immaterial communication

So, using the sonar, with a variable programming learning the distance in between the physical object and the person

Trying to see if I can sense the mood and the light might change color, ro speed in any case, and see a variable rhythm with the panels.
