Project
Development
Complete your
final project tracking your progress.
This
is an evaluation of the project status by June 7th, 2022.
There
have been some delays in project development, mainly due to an underestimation
of the design times within each of the activities programmed.

By
now, the pluviometer design has been successfully completed, including the
moving parts which have been the most difficult to achieve because of the
different materials I have been using. The electronics production design
process is complete, now I am focusing in finishing the production (there have
been some changes to the original files) and programming it. Once that is done,
the assembly to locate the actual boards in the project is what I am going to
be finishing this week.
The
extent of the project has been limited to the production of a pluviometer that
produces a signal to alert people when it is raining. The development of an
automated closing window machine has been delayed for a future iteration
because there are many questions to resolve: calculating motor output power,
defining the kind of motor needed, design of a system to fix the project to any
window or place.
Time
optimization techniques:
-
To avoid delaying the due date, I
started working on different processes at once, this worked by allowing me to
divert my resources (time) to a different activity if any issue that could not
be resolved immediately appeared in any of the processes.
I have
learned to better calculate the time that any activity is going to take or at
least to compensate for it in making different processes at once, this will
lead to fewer delays in future projects and a better time estimate for
deliveries.

What tasks have been completeded, and
what tasks remain?
-
What has worked? What has not?
-
What questions need to be resolved?

What will happen when?
