Individual assignment¶
- Design and produce something with a digital fabrication process not covered in another assignment, documenting the requirements that your assignment meets, and including everything necessary to reproduce it. Possibilities include (but are not limited to) composites, textiles,biotechnology, robotics, and cooking.
Requirements¶
- Shown how you made your project.
- Described problems and how you fixed them.
- Included your design files and ‘hero shot’ photos of the project.

Composites Table By Vinyl Cutter¶

Most provider for the BOM have serched on a P2P shopping website for cheaper cost.
They are unstable bissness or personal seller keep change what they sell.
For the building tint, search “build tint black silver” to find someone near you.

Design¶
Draw the shape of desktop.
And the legs.
And the bottom
Use “_sweep2” to build bottom surface.
Simplify the leg linkage part.
Design of the table done.
Make slices
Modify the cross over line. It should design with thickness,
but here does not because of paper is thin.
And It is a bad idea that cause a bad bone of the table later.
Arrange pieces for cut.
Cut paper¶
Find a plastic sheet which made out of PE or PP.
Paint in with very thin layer ” Art Design Spary Adhesive ‘.
Send to vinyl cutter and cut it.
Put them together.
Add some support to the paper bone.
50 mm of paper distance is too long, gives a weak bone.
And also a weak leg.
Build a stronger leg¶
Pull out the leg surface, import to pepakura and select the directions. link here
Unfold it.
Turn off the texture.
Set up printer and paper.
Print to CutePDF link here, then import to design softwere to get vector file.
Then cut and assemble.
Paint some resin to strengthen the bone of table.
It is not a nessasary step if bone is rigid enough.
Adding layers.
More treatments needed
Add a shiny gift paper as bottom reflector.
It is also good as a finish work but not done yet.
Install LED tape.
Cover the top reflector.
Here i choose a tint or film for buildings,
It is dark one side, mirror-look and sticky on the other.
Usually manual asks spray soap water to the surface that will be apply,
but I just spray some water on it.
Finished, lights on and off.
