Raster: Paint vs GIMP¶

Paint is a simple build-in softwere of windows.

GIMP is more like Photoshop, which has layers, curve, etc.

~~But the new layer in GIMP will be gray, and I didn’t find how to make It colors, maybe I will try sometimes.~~

Update at week 11: When I install it out of Sandboxie, It works fine.

Vector: Inkscape vs Rhinoceros¶

Inkscape is relly like Coreldraw and Illustrator. It’s not easy to make some lines on another shape’s tip or middle (or I didn’t found It). Inkscape is good as a art softwere, but this week I need CAD softwere.

FreeCAD¶

Edit the spreadsheet

You cannot edit (drag, copy, paste, etc.) spreadsheet like you do it in spreadsheet softweres. A better way is edit it in a spreadsheet softwere like Excel or OpenDocument,then import to OpenCAD.

However, the data in CSV file exports from FreeCAD is separate by “Tab”, not comma. But OpenDocument does It by comma. So you need to open the CSV by an txt editer, type a “Tab”，copy it, and use the “search and replace” functio to replace all comma by tab.

Then FreeCAD can read It right.

Setup “Alias” one by one.

Go to workbench “sketcher”, creat a new sketch, link it to spreadsheet.

I still can’t fix the conflic of patameters. A double patameters cannot be delete. Maybe it only be a problem in Windows.

Fusion 360¶

For the problem on FreeCAD, I am tring swich to Fusion 360, but Fusion 360 has own problem. When I change the deepth of fitting, It change the angle as well, which should be still.
