Wildcard Week --- Ազատ ստեղծագործ
Introduction --- Ներածություն
For this week we had to:
Design and produce something with a digital fabrication process
(incorporating computer-aided design and manufacturing) not covered
in another assignment, documenting the requirements that your
assignment meets, and including everything necessary to reproduce
it. (individual assignment)
I've made a tshirt print using vynil cutter and screen printing technique.
Prepairing the print --- Պատկերի պատրաստումը
I've decided to make a tshirt for our good friend Gevorg Yeghyan who was always helping us at fablab.
I used corel draw to make the file (I prefer Adobe illustrator) the computer connected to vynil cutter in Dilijan had only corel draw.
Here is the corel draw file:

Cutting the vynil --- Վինիլային թաղանթի կտրումը
I used tweezers to remove extra vynil (the white part is where ink will stay on the tshirt). The I applied transfer tape to put it on the screen. The transfer tape available at fablab is very strong for vynil it's very hard to peel it off.
Screen printing --- Տպագրում մաղով
A good way to ckeck what the final print will look like is to put the screen on the light. The transperent parts will let the ink on the tshirt. Put a cardboard inside the tshirt to keep extra ink away from the other side of the tshirt.
Put the screen on the shirt press the frame of the screen as firmly as you can (use clamps if available). Then apply the ink. I used "Blick Waterbased Acrylic Fabric Screen Printing Ink" according to their website they are non-toxic, non-flammable, safe for school use. After applying the ink spread it evenly with the squeegee do this few times. And remove the screen. The print should be ready!!!
You can repeat the process to produce more prints. But I advice to wash the screen before doing another print. Gevorg was amazed with the result so he asked if we could make the print on his car too.
I cleaned the part where Gevorg wanted to have the print. It was little hard to press the screen on this part of the car, but we somehow managed to do this. The result was not that good as on fabric.
Anyway Gevorg was very happy with the result.
