For this week, we are supposed to answer some questions regarding the final project. To help us think of our project and plan for the future. How will others be able to make my porject?
I think pan and tilt platform is very important for a developement of computer vision where a camera should follow a certain target. I am going to fabricate the machine in the fablab and program the algorith with it.
I have found some people have done this beforehand and I take this as a reference and improve them.
For example. this guy has built a face tracking with a Pan/Tilt Servo Bracket and program it on C.
Face Tracking with a Pan/Tilt Servo Bracket
Furthermore, I like the way of this robotic arm platfrom that he built, the way it design is very elegant and functional.
Basically, I am going to try to stand on the giant shoulder like Neil always said.
I have tried a lot to just 3d print the robotic arm from BCN3D yet 3D print but it does not beneficial regarding the timing process. It takes ages to produce a big part. Therefore I am going to design which has less 3D print part and try to use other subtractive fabrication.
The local material shop
Less than 100 Euro for the material without the camera.
The structure, mechanical parts and most of the electronics.
CNC machining for milling the PCB and cut the plywood, 3d printer for some difficult parts by machining subtractively.
I need to finish the PCB and write a new algorithm and then I could add a remote to my robot.
Is the algorithm sufficient enough to track a certain target?
Does the structure easy to be adjusted with the timing belt?
Is the platform rubost?
I have tried to finish my final project since the begining of fabAcademy and now I would like to make a good board that can easy to connected to another modules and motor driver and upgrade the software algorithm to track a target in a very fast movement.
Does it follow the target?
