Once my crankie is up and running I would like to develop a performance piece that integrates the lighting input/output and tells a story. I'd also like to integrate sound as originally planned.
With a full-fledged story, I plan to participate in a crankie festival. Luckily for me, there is one held in Vermont every year and others held around the US.
I initially envisioned the crankie to be a tool for families to create stories together. I hope to make another and send it along with puppet-making materials, a blank scroll, and some resources on storytelling to family and friends with young children to use and get feedback. I'm not sure of it's marketability as a product but would certainly share open source files and resources to those interested in making their own under a Creative Commons license.
