This week's Assignment is to develop a dissemination plan of my Final Project.

So this week's assignment was to make/share a plan through which my Project can be marketed or be used to generate business and understand the Licensing System/Methods which could be in favour of the project or its creator...... I also need to understand what are the scopes of the project that needs to be evaluated to make it Patentable ...

What do I think about my final project ?

Here's what I think about my final project ....... I completely understand that the project is a prototype ..... with lot of scopes of improvements and optimization....... So, what I think is, I should not make any patent on this project .... well even I wanted to.... I wouldn't have got any patent for this ....... because everything that is used in the project is open source almost... plus I dont want to limit this project here ..... I want that evryone who likes the project..... download the files and modify it ....... Make it a better work piece.....(I would be glad if someone does that and acknowledges me for the same).....

What I believe, for this project is ...... it can have a huge market in Developing countries ....... where people want to raise their standard of living and have an ease of access to anything ....... The project can be effectively utilized in Hotel's Industry... as they can provide customers a better ease of access to appliances in the room.... apart from that its an add-on to the services customers are getting ...... A lot more target areas can be identified ..... I would also share a business model I have made for the same .... but before that

Licensing of my Final Project

I went through Creative Commons License Page. This was the best justifciation i could have done with my project....... I decided to move ahead with the CC License..... The process is super simple .....

1. Select A license type

2. Fill in some details

3. generate code

That's it ..... You have a License ......

I am going to use this license for my work, I really want that anyone who intends to work on this concept move ahead with the ground work I have done and make it a better project......

The Business Model

Well its a basic business model for the project.... if anyone want to go live in market with this project, can use this as a template ..... I really dont want to earn anything from this project at this stage

This is for people who don't know what a business model canvas is ...... well I wont elaborate much, or write stories ...... To the point ..... Business model canvas is a one frame picture depicting all the activites related to a particular business.... either its about partners, key activities, cash inflow, expenditures etc ..... or anything related to core business.....

Motivators for this Project

I had a simple problem

My Personal experience, Every night when I go to bed and I see any of the light which was left ON, them I'm like Nooooooooooooo...... this can't be happening, I don't want to get up.

This was the initial motivator for me to do this project

After this I took survey for seeking answers, what people think about this problem ( To understand whether they have the same problem or not ). ..... and these were the results

About 85% People were ready to invest in these kind of systems ...... So, I was convinced to move ahead with the project

Funding

As Per the BOM of the project the cost is only about 2100 INR =~ 32USD, Its not a very big amount so.... for prototype I would be chipping in myself .......and for mass production..... I would be taking 50% advance from the customers and then carry forward the production either in FABLAB or some 3rd party Vendors...

     Total is about 2100 INR which is =~ 32 USD

I am projecting for 1000 Pcs of the product, I would be needing funds of about 17,00,000 INR which is about 26,000USD. In India I wont find a buyer demanding more than 100Pcs in one go. So, I would keep the selling price at about 3500INR. Normally here in India vendors demand 50% of the total billed value,so in this case my 50% advance would be 1,75,000 INR, for mass production I needed only 1,70,000 INR for 100 Pcs.... So ..... I wont be needing funding.... Its like self survived business model.
