There were two baseline constraints in this assignment. One was that we do not have a 3D scanner available to us and the second was that our 3D printer is a Makerbot and it was not functioning. Actually it has never really functioned and in general, I find this product is pretty crappy and unfortunately so is the customer service. But I digress. . . . . For this 3D assignment, I had time to play with SketchUp and OpenSCAD. SketchUp is not as intuitive as Open SCAD to me. I think the difference lies in the baseline functions that each program seems designed to fulfill. My choice was OpenSCAD for this assignment Š it is less of a drawing program and more of a designerÕs tool.
The finished product is still in Barcelona but I hope to be united with it soon.
