iPad Stand Tutorial

Triggered by a need and NeilŐs comment about making several things from a minimum of identical pieces,

I decided to make a stand for my iPad to use to hold it in my lap and that collapses so that I could carry it

conveniently in my backpack.

Since I am still more comfortable with pen and paper design, I drew a first sketch or two.

Then the drawings were transferred to Inkscape.  The final file is pressfit5.svg.

The first iteration in cardboard showed that the notch openings were a smidgen too large.

This iteration did allow for proof that the design worked.

Additionally adding more notches could increase the flexibility of the pieces -- so 3 more in the middle during the next iteration.

It works as an iPad stand, a base for use of the iPad flat, and adding pieces can create more uses for small desk shelves.
