The wokrshops were held to select the students who will participate in an international program Fab Academy which learn various techniques of digital fabrication and applications in transformation of the immediate reality. After the completion of the program, assist in the AECID installation of a Fab Lab in the city of origin of participants encourage invention and creation of local platforms for development socially and economically. This platform will continue to promote projects which use the Internet as the main tool for the team work.
The workshop was attended by eight studentsof which seven were male and one female. The workshop was conducted at the School of Fine Arts at the University Addis Ababa. Four candidates were selected who will benefit from two full scholarships to the Fab Academy. This first exchange made possible to engage a second contact between the Fab Lab Barcelona and the University of Addis Ababa. Vincent Guallart Director of the Fab Lab Spain met with the direction of the School of Fine Arts of the University, as well as the local OTC. |
