The Astromech that Roy and I built is actually a version close to the Astromech that appears in the Lucas Films by the name of Star Wars (A very popular movie during my younger days). Considering that there might be a chance that we can be sue by the makers of Star Wars, we actually make very careful considerations on the designs of our Astromech and tried not to have much resemblances to the Astromechs similar to those in the Star Wars.
Another thing that Roy and I believe that if we are really going to sell our Astromech, we are getting ourselves in trouble like what I mentioned before. I am doing this project because it is always Roy's dream to build an Astromech. I am happy to help him to fulfill his dreams as well as to mine which I always wanted to build a mini robot. I am doing all these things to tell my students and people around me that I am able to fulfill my dream in building a mini robot with the help of advanced technology. Stuffs like 3D printer, Laser cutter, 2D router, PCB Milling machine, programming and many more which will help you to fulfill your dreams too.
For Personal,
I am amazed with what can be learnt and done in the digital fabrication world. Two things that I have in mind after completing the course is firstly, I will need to polish up my skills and knowledge and secondly, plan to do and complete something every two weeks relating to digital fabrication.
- Thinking to continue doing further studies into digital fabrication
- If possible to set up a mini workshop to teach and share digital fabrication, maybe how to fabricate different version of the Astromech
- To build a project that will help or assist us in our daily life
For Family, Buddies and Friends also my Students,
In my life, I always know that other than my Family members, Buddies and Friends are the most important companions in my long running life. Of course not to forget my precious students, I would like to bring the best things in Digital Fabrication to all of them that is to share my experiences and my learning journey with them. I would also consider to put up my project design and programs online to help others taking the course and maybe a form of assistance to the rest trying to do the similar stuff.
- Maybe to conduct short workshop course and invite all of them to attend
- Introduce and Recommend all of them who are interested or wants to try something different to go for this course
- Hoping that Singapore Polytechnic will be the first in Singapore to launch this course and I will be the first person to teach all of them
For Outside people,
I would also like to shared with the outside world about what I have done in the course. I believe this will make more people gain interest in Engineering and bringing Engineering to another higher stage.
