Topical Talk 01: The linear, the circular and the devolved
The forces which created wealth for the industrial world but also displaced workers and accelerated throughput, the over exploitation of finite resources, created waste and social discontent – the linear economy - have gone on to create a devolved economy where access to energy, tools and expertise is falling in cost. The missing link is circularity. A new economy of enterprise and innovation needs to work long term and at the same time exploit the opportunities of effective material flows and restoring natural capital. It is the convergence for our times.
