Assignment: Student creates and documents a license for their final project. Creates a plan for sharing final project (dissemination)

License

I tinker with the Creative Commons web page and found some interesting information about sharing and property of my intellectual work. There are several types of licenses that depend on different factors. If one allow adaptations of the work to be shared, if it is mandatory to share alike the resulting work and if there can be commercial use of the idea.

I my case, I want my final project to be as open as possible and I allow people to make a commercial use of the idea as long as they  attribute the work in the manner specified.

At Creative Commons web page there is a video explaining many of this things:

Then there is an automated gadget to help anyone to get the right license. it is needed to choose the license features as showed bellow:

I decided to use an Attribution-ShareAlike

CC BY-SA

This license lets others remix, tweak, and build upon your work even for commercial purposes, as long as they credit you and license their new creations under the identical terms. This license is often compared to “copyleft” free and open source software licenses. All new works based on yours will carry the same license, so any derivatives will also allow commercial use. This is the license used by Wikipedia, and is recommended for materials that would benefit from incorporating content from Wikipedia and similarly licensed projects. With the licesns I choosed you can:

The full length license can be found HERE

Dissemination

I have three ideas to disseminate the birdcatcher IDEA:

1. There are many bird watching sites in the net around the world like Cornell lab. I think that to offer the open source bird feeder to take pictures is an attractive idea.

2. There are hundreds of magazines for bird watchers and also for makers (like instructables) that the idea might seem interesting.

3. There are hundreds of bird feeding devices with no electronics on it. i think there might be some companies that would like to offer the birdcatcher as a line of products
