Week Eleven

Originally I really wanted to use a thermal printer into my project. I purchased a thermal printer from Ada Fruit and played around with the tutorials and example programs that were provided with it. I was really impressed with the resolution of that printer. I began sending sketches to it using a processing script. I began researching what it would take for me to build something that used the thermal printer. I realized that I would be having to incorporate an SD card with a bank of images. While that is a feature I am interested in using with the design, I decided to start with first having the LED moon working. I decided to work with RGB LEDs, making the moon "display" capable to being set in a variety of different colors. I worked to have them be each in a seperate paper housing, so that as it scrolled through each day, the dimensional moon would cycle through the different days.

More documentation can be found at my final project page Final Project Page.
