Assignment:
- Redraw the echo hello-world board,
- Add (at least) a button and LED (with current-limiting resistor)
- Check the design rules, and make it.
To redesign the board, we have downloaded the software Eagle, and some components library.
I used Eagle to redesign the hello board.
Download-EagleCadSoft EAGLE is a software widely used by companies and by amateurs to draw PCB.
I followed the Providence tutorial electronics_design_eagle.html to design my circuit. I selected all the components that I needed from the libraries and I make the schematic connecting using the "net" tool.
I added one button and one LED to my hello board. In the board view I distributed the components attemping to create easier connections, and so drew the elettrical routes between them.
I hid all layers except the top one, and selected file> export> image. In the export image window I chose 500 dpi resolution and I checked the button Monochrome, creating the "traces.png" file. Then I edited it in Photoshop and I created a border by changing the canvas size, offsetting it by 20px for each side and painting it black. Then I painted the rest of the image white. In this way i made the "interior.png" file.
Table size (LxP): 232.2 x 156.6 mm
Distance from collet tip to table: 232.2 x 156.6 mm
- Open fabmodules.org
- Click on Input Format;
- Choose Image(.png) and Upload Image;
- Click on Output Format and choose "Roland Mill (.rml)";
- Machine Settings;
- Machine: SRM-20; Speed: 4; Jog: 1; Xmin: 0; Ymin: 0;
- CLick on Process and choose "PCB traces(1/64)" or "PCB outline(1/32)";
- Change offset to 5 (this is a personal setting);
- Hit Calculate;
- Save.
I was involved in a domestic accident and i had a burn of II degree on my left hand. In the picture you can see it bandaged, so putting the components in place was quite an adventure.
When you observe objects so small for so long, you realize the real size of everything else, it's a strange sensation.
