the situation
my final project was right from the beginning meant to be a simple prototype. i would like to see other people taking on the project and making use of it within their community for example. the design is aimed to be easily copyed with available materials which don't need to be the same that i used. i want to make the proof of concept but also want to keep working on it in the future. a great inspiration was the book "makers - the new industrial revolution" by chris anderson. i realized the power of open source, bringing people together who love what they make but also enabling businesses being formed, not everyone wants/can make everything.
choosing a license
since i'm not a lawyer i had to seek assistence online, which led me to creativecommons.org. here i believe i found the right license:

in the future
the tipping point is hopefully the starting point for further development of devices which can be used in a range of applications connected to ecology, agriculture, etc.
a comunity dealing with this (water) issues would be a great source of inspiration and a benefit for the development of data generating devices tackling one of the greatest challenges of the future of the planet.
