Mercurial Tutorial

I have gone through the tutorials provided at Fab academy resources. It took me some time to understand the whole process. My instructor Henry helped me with this.

1. Website building

This was my first code and it was lot of fun. Henry helped me with the initial introduction to the html coding. I installed Sublime text 2 editor which has been very helpful in coding. I like to keep things simple and clean so I am designing the website with minimum elements. I learned most of the coding from www.w3schools.com

From the above mentioned tutorials and websites, I learned the following major elements of HTML coding and website development

2. Final project

Charger unplug device

Being a product designer, I love to solve problems through product design. For the fab academy project I have decided to work on a problem I face everyday. I use a smart phone which has lithium ion battery, I have to charge my phone on the daily basis. I come back home form work late and get involved with TV or cooking. I make most of my family calls at night. After whole day's Internet use, music and calls on phone there is hardly any battery left at night when I go to sleep. Though I could put my battery on charge overnight but this practice:

I have decided to build a smart plug which will be inserted in between the charger and the socket for AC mains supply. This will physically disconnect the charger from the socket after a pre-determined time period.

I have shown a possible embodiment for the concept. There is a prime plug which holds the timer unit. The time unit can be of various types eg electronic, mechanical etc. There is one detachable socket where the charger will be interested. Detachable socket will be connected to the plug by means of a mechanism which can be triggered using a small mechanical/ electo-mechanical switch. I am working on developing a doable concept. Following are various possible module structure.
