Our first week assignment was to make personal web-site, that would represent our progress at FabAcademy. I had some experiments with cms-basd web-design (I was using joomla and wordpress) before, but all those things were not good enough to satisfy my aesthetic perception. That's why I was really excited about opportunuty to try to design a web-site using only html and css.
When you start doing something, the best thing is to ask yourself about the criteria of success. So, what is the main thing about the web-site? Right, containing information and giving acces to it on the one hand and making it all easy and comfy on the other. Thus, in my opinon, web-site development contains a lot of work on technological issues and design.
For now my first priority is pure functionality. Thus this web-site has to show information about my progress and for now it can be really creepy. But a little later (by the end of march i believe) I would like to focus on design and usability issues. I know that for now I got really far behind the other participants, but I have strong belief in myself. My final goal is to make really likeable web-site in some iterations.
I think I will write about my progress a little later but also I would like to share my thoughts. This little web-site is about to become my log through all the journey on the ship of FabAcademy and structuring it is another problem that is yet to be solved.
