PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

After the project presentation. The last remaining task to complete the project is to add a sensor to the head. My goal is to incorporate an Ultrasonic sensor to the head. The head will turn and will stop when it senses someone.
The First test is to test that the Ultrasonic Sensor is able to turn on an LED
 

The next test is to test that the Ultrasonic Sensor will stop the DC motor. The head is not mounted on the body. So as to isolate the mechanical load. This isolation tests solely the programe and electronics.
 

The final test is a full load test. and it shows the sensor stopping the head from rotation.

Vinyl Cutter

To give a final touch, an image of the words "Star Wars" was scanned and cut using the vinyl cutter. The media used was a normal sticker. The vinyl cutter was really easy to use and after using it, I feel that there is a whole lot of potential that this little guy can deliver! well done brother on an excellent product :)
   

Future Plans

Further development would be in the area of adding more mechanical functionality and navigation capability to the astromech. It would be my future teaching assistant.
