For this week's assignment i designed using coreldraw and made a press fit construction kit that is a model of a door frame with a heavy duty carton.I chose to work with 25 cm by 12.5 cm for the length and width respectively and 4 cm for the depht.For the length i choose 2 cm from the edges and 4 cm inwards with 1.5cm as the widht of the created slots.Finally, i cut out my design using Epilog laser cutter and fixed all the cut out parts as shown below.For the fuctionality of the laser cutter i used provided user manual.
Design files.In this i will produce two of each design during the cutting process so as i can have a model of a door frame fixed.
Find below the manual of a laser cutter i got stappled on a wall in the fab lab.I went through it and trying the machine and whenever i was stacked i got assisted from the fab gurus.
