Scott Zitek - Fab Academy 2014

About me

I am an Assistant Professor at Lorain County Community College. Lorain County is located on the "North Coast" of the United States in Ohio by the shores of Lake Erie. LCCC is located about half-way in-between the roller coaster capital of the world, Cedar Point in Sandusky, and the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.

I teach Automation Engineering Technology including Industrial Robotics, Programmable Logic Controllers, Human Machine Interfaces, Workcell Interfacing, Digital Fabrication, etc.

I have been the coordinator of the LCCC Fab Lab since the lab was established in June 2005. I was very fortunate to attend Fab 9 in Yokohama, Japan. After the event we went on a rare tour of the Roland DG Miyakoda Plant. During the tour we had an opportunity to make a small example product using the same Japanese "MONO-zukuri” system used by the factory employees to make Roland mills and vinyl cutters.
