student at FabLab Reykjavik in Iceland, january - june 2014.
For some time know, I had had the wish to do something new to challenge myself. A project to
expand my general knowledge and to find some fresh inspiration. And then the chance to enroll in
theFabAcademy came along. A really good opportunity to study topics like 2D & 3D design, project
managing, working with a (new) range of open source software and learning programming
& electronics.
My name is Linda Wanders, I'm from the Netherlands, 27 years old and I have a degree in Graphic
Design and in Fine arts - Education. I have always had an interest in creating stuff.
It's fun and challenging to figure out the best approach to design something neat,
whether 2D or 3D.
My interest for this semester is to be able to comprehend coding (since I'm unfamiliar with it),
to be able to turn those letters and numbers into things, making my own boards and use them in
my final project. Another goal is that I would like to master some open source design software
(many are new to me) so am able teach/help other fablab users.
