Computer-aided Design

This week the exercise was to model (draw, render, animate, simulate, ...) a possible final project, and post it on your class page. In the class, we have been introduced lot of different tools for 2D and 3D design modelling. Here is the link to see the details.

As being an architect, i have been using lot of different tools for 2D and 3D design modelling, and after using all of these one thing i can say that the if you know well about just one of software then its not that difficult to learn the all the other softwares as the basic command lines are same in all the tools. and personally i am using Rhino 3D modelling tool, the main reason for using Rhino tool is that you can also use all the Programming plug-ins like Grasshopper and Python scripting and Also rhino has its own Rhino script tool.

Designing and 3D Modelling

My final project is related to the fields of quad-copters and automatic control. The quad-copter can be described as a vehicle with four propellers in a cross configuration as shown in the Figure.

As part of the exercise, i have started working on 3d modelling of QUADcopter to understand the basic scale and also basic details, like joinery of the motors to the frame, the central board assembly and how all four propellers, motors, all the wiring and the frames are coming together and how does it look as whole. While working on this 3D model, i have got a basic understanding of a QUADcopter. Here is the link to download the Rhino file.
