experiment with a breath sensor...

For the this assignment I have designed and developed a very simple circuit and a program to measure the pressure of a person blowing into the embouchure of a flute based instrument. The code below has been written with the Arduino IDE and prototyped with the Arduino board. A board based on the the same microcontroller is currently under development.

The video below illustrates the sensor. I have been working with my colleague (and FabAcademy student) on the development of a system that can measure simultaneously the wind instrumentalist gesture and his breath. Part of that project can be seen in the 3d printing assignment

I wanted to challenge my self... wrong idea... I made a library only for the breath sensor because I could not find it on line. It took me 2-3h!!!

Here is the library. I am happy with the result but unhappy with the 3h.

A nice picture of the shield for the fabduino (the Arduino type board I developed finally for my assignment Networking and Communications ) is

I haven't soldered the sensor because I wanted to use it on another device.

It is the 3d printed mouthpiece made in earlier assignment, that I have placed the pressure/breath sensor and I have made it to work in a similar way.

The schematic and the board can be downloaded: schematic and board

Moreover the files ready for milling on iModela are presented below:
