Scanning ~
After studying the instructions and tips on Cubify's site, I made several attempts to scan an object using my iPhone camera and uploading a series of photos to Cubify Capture (Beta).
For three of the uploads, Cubify sent a message that a file could not be produced.
I started with a laser-cut object, but there may not have been adequate contrast.
Cubify rendered the finial that I scanned and I opened the file in MeshLab to edit:
The third scan, a sea shell, was initially rejected by Cubify, likely due to the reflective surface of the table top.
I rescanned it, using a patterned scarf underneath and NetFabb rendered it in 3D (see photos, below).
I also scanned a a fourth object, but it could not be rendered by Cubify.
I also tried MeshLab, 123D Catch, 123D Render, OpenScad.
