REMEMBER2 is a wearable device that is programmable to sparkle at intervals to remind the wearer to...
step away from the computer, stay on task, exercise, etc. It doubles as a wearable flash light and/or safety light (for biking, etc.).
• Who has done it beforehand?
Other wearable electronic bracelets/cuffs:
• What materials and components will be required and where will they come from?
Prototype 1: Poly Plastic Sheet, Conductive thread, Velcro, CR2032 coin battery + sewable battery holder, LEDs.
• How much will it cost?
Prototype 1: Cost: $60.00
• What parts and systems will be made?
Parts that will be made: Cuff (top and bottom), soft circuit, connector switch.
• What processes will be used?
Prototype I: Digital design (Inkscape), foldable tessalations, laser cut components (cuff and fasteners), sewable circuit.
• What tasks need to be completed?
Prototype 1: Prototype completed.
Prototype 2 tasks to be completed include: design of small microprocessor and compact power source that won't be bulky or burdensome.
• What questions need to be answered?
How to create a well designed, programmable, wearable electronic with components that fit into the cuff design & high functionality with regular use.
• What is the schedule?
Prototype 2 to be completed by or before December 1, 2013.
• How will it be evaluated?
Evaluation criteria include design desirability, comfort, multiple functions.
