Principles and Practises (Week 1)
Sketch of my project :
It was not easy to choose my final project as I am very new to Fabrication. I have been working in the management domain for over 8 years now. Ask me questions about marketing, business model, sale strategy, funding and I won’t take more than a minute to provide details.
Additionally, being an english literature graduate, working with tools, CAD/CAM, hacking stuff etc never happened. I do however, keep a keen interest in design and hence this interest in fabrication.
Fab Academy helps me go a notch higher and adds to my management experience, giving me a chance to explore technology in the best possible way.
All in all, I wish to say, that my final project would be simple and sweet - a pendulum wall clock, topped with micro controller chip to switch LEDs when the sun goes down and play a note at the beginning of an hour.
This would allow me to explore mechanical engineering and electronics, two fields very closely related and connected to my interest in Robotics and Drones. Hopefully, that will happen some day too :)
Personal Site and Mercurial
It took me a lot of time to set up mercurial. I was struggling with the internet speeds and my Mac refused to accept the commands.
Eventually, just about a month back, I set up mercurial on my windows desktop. Took me about 2 hours to pull content, but its all done.
I am using Tumblr to document my experiences at Fab Academy.
