For this assigment I decided to make a cyclops visor mount (from X-men 2). I designed it on Inventor: ![]() Photo: 3D model cyclops visor Then I 3D printed it. ![]() 3D printed model After that I put some body filler and after sanding in order to get a better finish ![]() 3D printed model with body filler In order to fabricate the mold I had to make a box (design and then cut with the lasser machine). ![]() I mixed RTV silicone with 2% of its catalyst and then filled the box with the model inside as shown in the next picture ![]() After some hours, we have to remove the 3D printed model ![]() For the compiste I mixed Polyester Resin, "Cobalt" (Activator-1.5%), "Peroxid" (Catalyst-0.5%), Monostyrene (solvent-the necesary to get the correct viscosity) and add some glass fibber. First I put the glass fibber into the mold and then the Mix : ![]() Finaly the result : ![]() Files: Mediafire https://www.mediafire.com/folder/wtzk36p4lg36b/compositesGithub https://github.com/lefolindo/composites |
