How To Make (Almost) Anything

by Tiago Figueiredo

Week 17: Invention, Intellectual Property, and Income

Hi everyone! This week assignment we had to develop a plan for dissemination of our final project. I'v been thinking during this semester how could I do so. I think I found a solution for that and all is based on the following assumptions:

  • Since all the philosophy behind fab labs comes from sharing work and benefit from that, the open-source way would be the right path;

  • If it is open-source, it has to be published and announced everywhere possible, like websites for that practice, social networks and my homepage;

  • Last, but not least the possiblity of teaching others that know nothing about this processes in the form of a workshop.

  • So, being said what is above, my plan for dissemination is simply to give everything for everyone and let them learn and build with that:

      Release all the software and hardware designs of my final project

      Make my webpage for the Academy a valuable document of knowledge and make it a indispensable user guide in our Fab Lab

      Share my work everywhere I can online the way I have been doing so posting my videos on - Youtube

      Build a new webpage, that will be the natural evolution of my page in the Academy.

      Organize workshops on how to make almost anything, teach others how to think and design for the machines

    I know this is not an excellent plan, but my idea is to give everyone the possibilities that I was given by others as well. Thank you all from the Academy. Thank you parents. Thank you brother. Thank you Neil.

    And always remember:

    Thank you for watching everyone!
