I am textile artist and doll maker, lives and work in Tel Aviv
My work combines the disciplines of traditional textile crafts and visual arts: painting, photography, and installation art. Using textile materials, I create human figures, and I use stitches in order to design shapes. I employ those techniques as sculptural techniques, rather than their traditional use.In addition to my own artistic work, I teach doll making, and textile art in various settings, such as schools, museums, and environmental education centers. In my teaching work, I work with vast variety of populations and communities- professional and armature students who wish to develop their textile skills, as well as groups of children, in youth advancement programs, or adults who deal with mental disease and post trauma. In some of those workshops, I cooperate with psychologists and other therapists, who use the artistic process of textile art and doll-making as part of the therapeutic process.
My greatest passion is creating things with my own hands, and I strongly believe, in the power those crafts and the materials I work with have. In the Fabacdemy I wish to use and combine those textile disciplines with the new technologies.
