Snow Flake

In this exercise I wanted to explore the possiblity of unit that can manifest an open system quality.

I choose snow flake as a departure point because of the inherent qualities that this crystal has, but mainly because of its hexagonal symmetry.

In drawing this hexagonal I realized that this shape hold within itself many geometrical complexties and opted to use the equilateral triangle as the primary unit for the open system that I wish to explore.

started with an equilateral triangle as it was the logical component to extract from this geometry.

I set up a template with some score and cut line and assembled the first system

system-1

Variant 2 of the system using a component with more scores then cut.

system-2 system-2a system-2b

Version 2

Changes:

1. triangle fold is on a different axes

2.triangle scale and inner cuts are scaled differently

system-3 system-3a system-3b
