All About Me
HI! I am a long-distance student at Fab Academy at AS220. I live and work in Huntsville AL, where I have two jobs. I publish a local pet magazine and I am the Director of Operations at MindGear Labs, a FabLab in nearby Madison AL. We just opened a few months ago and are focusing on kids classes and activities. We have all new equipment, which is good and bad; I have found that sometimes it is more difficult to setup the equipment than it is to use it.
This is a new career direction for me. I was a professor of Middle East Studies, but when I relocated to to Huntsville, I had no employment options. My partner, Rob, has been interested in FabLabs for several years, and I have always enjoyed making things, so we started our own lab. There has been a lot to learn, and I expect that there will be much more learned in the coming months - I am really excited to be participating in Fab Academy.
