Computer-aided design (Jan 30)
Assignment
model (draw, render, animate, simulate, ...)
a possible final project, and post it on your class page
The second week we learned how to use programs to design in 2
and 3 dimensions. I started to use a Solidworks , this is a
nice software to view but not allowed to discriminate objects
collision between. Then I tried to install the Pro/Engineer.
With this program you can design and simulate projects. These
applications are great, but take up a lot on hard drive and in
my opinion is where Rhino
exceeds them.
Rhino can be considered an evolution of Autocad. It has a
console to run commands, icons to select different functions and
it has 4 different views of three-dimensional plane. Views can
move, rotate, change for other views, zoom in, zoom out. You can
create models, draws and renders.
