Final proyect (FabRobo R-Explorer)
My first idea for the final project is to design and build a robot platform to explore a place. You can connected to the robot web site to control it and view these images. I have not decided what kind of sensors the robot will have to show on the web. My main goal is to provide a platform controlled by web. The name of this proyect is FabRobo R-Explorer.
- Main control
- As a "master board" to install the web server and web control. I could use a Raspberry Pi. This is a open source board as a mini PC, you can load Linux or Android OS and I think that it will make the job easier. It has a big memory to store data, 2 USB connectors to connect a USB webcam and USB WiFi, IO ports and Ethernet,UART,SPI port for external communications.
- Sensors and devices control
- I possibily use Arduino o Chipkit (same as Arduino but more powerful) as "slave board" to control motors,sensors and more. The slave board receive orders from the master board and share data. I will need to create a "power board" with input / output optocoupler to isolate the electromagnetic noise to slave boar.
- Platform
- Design and build a platform with different parts manufactured in the FabLab.
- Power supply
- The FabRobo R-Explorer will be powered by rechargeable batteries
- Motion
- 2 motors electric for motion
