Computer-Aided Design

This week we were given the task of making a model of a possible final project. Though I still haven’t decided what to do for my final project, I decided to make a model of my window cleaner.

Since I don’t have a lot of experience with modeling software, I wanted to use a simple-to-learn, quick modeling tool. So I ended up using SketchUp. Below is shown images of the window cleaner model. It doesn’t include any complicated parts, just an idea of what it would look like if I decide to make it.

In addition to learning how to use CAD tools, I was reading about some mechanisms I could use for the window cleaner. I found this site interesting (especially for a novice like me). It shows some common mechanisms with animations. I will definitely use it in the future.
