Here you can find all the notes, exercises, documents of the final projects done by Massimo Menichinelli for the FabAcademy 2012 from Aalto FabLab (Helsinki) and mentored by FabLab Amsterdam.
FABMoney is an open source digital currency for enabling collaboration in a FabLab. The project is completely open source: software, data, hardware, design.
At the same time of the FabAcademy, I've been lecturing a course about digital fabrication at Media Lab Helsinki - School of Art, Design and Architecture - Aalto University: Digital Fabrication Studio (25438). Many of the things I'm lecturing come from the FabAcademy, so I'm sharing the content back, I hope this may be useful for everybody. The lectures are published under a Creative Commons license
My background is in Industrial and Service Design since I have a Master of Science in Industrial Design from the Politecnico di Milano (Milan, Italy) and I have also studied at the Elisava School of Design (Barcelona, Spain). I've been interested in Design as a strategic process for enabling collaboration within distributed systems with open and p2p dynamics since 2005 with my master degree thesis. I then founded the openp2pdesign.org project, an open source community for the research and design for open, complex and collaborative projects, systems and processes.
I attended the FabAcademy from the Aalto FabLab in Helsinki, a lab I've helped building with Anu Maatta at the Aalto Media Factory. We finally launched it on June 15th 2012!!
