Wildcard Week

Introduction

In this week we are required to design and produce something with a digital fabrication process not covered in another assignment. So what I did for this week is I used the digital sewing machine Janome Memory Craft 15000 to produce a flower. This assignment was the easiest assignments through the whole Fablab Journey. There was no errors and no problems and I finished doing this assignments in few minutes.

Steps

1. Before starting this assignment I went through Salama’s page to know more about this machine and how to use it. but to be honest there was a lot of information that I don’t understand it on her page. So as my colleagues Maha and [Fatima] finished this assignment earlier they helped me to use the machine.

2. I chose a fabric piece to make the sewing process on it.

3. The hoop that I used for the fabric was HOOP-FA 10.

4. This video shows how I follow the previous steps.

5. I secured the hoop on the machine.

6. I needed to fill the top and bottom threads, there was already threads on the top and bottom so I keep them. I Just follow the numbers on the machine as shown in the below video.

7. I chose a flower design from the machine (the flower is available in the machine library itself) and give it an order to start.

8. The below video shows how the machine works in order to produce the flower.

9. This is the final result.
