19. Project development¶
This week I worked on defining my final project idea and started to getting used to the documentation process.
I was behind schedule because I have changed my project idea.
What tasks have been completed, and what tasks remain?¶
What tasks have been completed?¶
-
Concept art for display parts, for CNC, laser and 3D printing.
-
3D parametric design generator.
-
Tachometer code and PWM library code for the ATmega328p.
-
Knowledge of what pins of the ATmega328p I will use.
-
50% of documentation of the final project.
-
Selecting and testing the microcontroller.
What tasks remain?¶
-
Create and mill PCBs.
-
Print 3d models.
-
CNC mill the display parts.
-
Laser cut acrylic.
-
Cable management the wires
What’s working? what’s not?¶
-
3d model of the zoetrope is not working properly
-
Code is working on Arduino Uno, but not it is not working on the ATmega328p.
What questions need to be resolved?¶
-
Why some codes are not working properly?
-
Why my model has the same effect as John Edmark’s Bloom sculptors, while it works on Blender?
What will happen when?¶
Finish all my work and documentation by 8th of July maximum, but try to adapt if I had some problems or issues need to be solved.
What have you learned?¶
I had some background knowledge in digital fabrication, and I own a CNC machine and a 3D printer, but I have learned:
-
Using other fabrication machines; like laser cutting, and the meaning of kerf and how it works.
-
Parametric design using not Rihno, but Blender; a program I was using it as a hoppy of mine.
-
I have overworked myself between my job and the Fab Academy Program, and sometimes I need to relax to get better results and think more clearly.
-
Alternative ways to make a product, like molding and casting.
-
I am interested to continue learning about parametric design and soft robotics.
