Technology Needed
Electronics
- slot bikes (dc motors)
- magnetometer for speedometer
- general system control (input from speedometer, voltage regulation)
Hardware
- Tracks (CNC milled plywood, some type of metal for transferring voltage)
- 3D printed slot bikes (to hold the motors)
- Apparatus to hold the speedometer
Software
- Program to receive data from speedometer, send to server/web socket.
- Program that receives the data from the server/web socket, and tells the slot track what that data is.
Project Management
I WORK A FULL TIME JOB!
I’ll be doing this sporadically, and with regard to work. Will probably need to jump around in weeks. I’ve already watched the lectures from last year, and will be re-watching as necessary. I am prioritizing being prepared for the group projects, and will not likely be on the same schedule as everyone else.

PHASE 1 - Slot Car Track Design
My first step is to make a construction kit of different track options. I’d like to prioritize a velodrome-shaped oval, but that’s pretty boring to people who aren’t me, so will be making additional tracks.
