Then¶
I have a art background…did art academy but decided very soon after finishing it that my destiny was helping people.... more than being an artist. So I shared my knowledge about materials, techniques and skills with other people. I worked for years at a Artists in Residence Centre in the Netherlands advising and helping artists, designers and architects to realize their work. My specialty was ceramics, model making and mold making. In 2010 I established a small digital workspace similar to a fablab. I tried to introduce modern fabrication techniques to traditional ceramic techniques. It involved clay printing , using 3d printed templates and milling plaster molds and clay.
Now¶
My main task at the Fablab in Kamp Lintfort is to make and organize Workshops in the FabLab for Secondary Education Schools in our region. The workshops deal with the machines, software and hardware available in our fablab. The workshops are for instance: Building a 3D printer, working with vinyl cutters, design your own T shirt print, learn CAD Drawing etcetera. Meanwhile we´re about to establish a SChoolFablAb Network in our region. We have like 15 high schools who have a makerspace or are just about to start one. We want to connect them in our network.
