11. Applications and implications¶
This Week was about getting into details of Final Project. We had to find answers to certain questions
.1. Q1_What will it do?
.2. Q2_Who has done what beforehand?
.3. Q3_What will you design?
.4. Q4_What materials and components will be required?
.5. Q5_Where will they come from?
.6. Q6_How much will it cost?
.7. Q7_What parts and system will be made?
.8. Q8_What processes will be used?
.9. Q9_What questions need to be answered?
.10 Q10_How will it be evaluated?
.1. Q1_What will it do?¶
The smart trap :
- Assures an Early detection of pest insects
*Contains a specific pheromone to attract the tomato leaf minner insect(Tuta absoluta)
*Stickey plate to apture the insect once entering to the trap
*Humidity detection
*Temperature detection
*A linear servo actuator to push the camera on button to take a photo of the stickey plate at a specific time
- Pictures will be sent to your smartphone so there is no need to check the trap manually
.2. Q2_Who has done what beforehand?¶
I didn’t see any one doing a smart trap in the fabacademy before but is an available product in the international market It doesn’t exist in our local market in Tunisia
.3. Q3_What will you design?¶
-
The system main body
-
The 3D printed components such as :
Electronic parts enclosure
the cammount
the linear sevo actuator
- PCB input and Output device Board design
. Q4_What materials and components will be required?¶
.Q5_Where will they come from?¶
.Q6_How much will it cost?¶
I have tried answering all these questions(Q4,Q5,Q6) using the table bellow
.Q8_What processes will be used?¶
CNC Milling: Used to mill the trap exterior shape and finalboard
Laser Cutting: I will use laser cutter to cut the side windows and the door from plexiglass.
3D Printing: In my project 3D printing will be used to print the linear servo actuator , the boardmount, the battery mount
Electronic production : To produce my board
PCB precision milling
Q9_What questions need to be answered?¶
*Is the linear servo actuator able to push the on button of the camera successfully ?
*Should I think about an alternative process instead of the servo actuator?
11. Q10_How will it be evaluate¶
-
Evaluate the input devices ((Dht should send the temperature and the humidity values to the LCD), The RTC should print the Time )
-
Evaluate the output devices :
*The LCD should display the data
*The servo motor need to move at a specific time
*The linear servo actuator should push the on butto of the camera successufully
