Individual Assignment

The following sections present details for my final project.

What will it do?

The goal of the project is to develop a website teaching Fab lab members “How to build a modular drone for a conservation mission from scratch”.

The website should allow the users to:

Step 1

Learn to design a modular fixed wing drone step by step

Step 2

Set parameters for a specific conservation mission

Step 3

Generate parametric CAD files

Step 4

Generate documentation to produce and assemble the drone in a Fab Lab

Who's done what beforehand?

BERISUAS

European project aiming to improve maritime safety

3DPrint Lab Kaier Falcon

Film covered 3D printed modular plane

Thingiverse Project Modular Aircraft

3D printed modular plane

3D printed motor

600 Watt, 3d-printed, Halbach Array, brushless DC electric Motor

Open Source ESC

BLDC motor controller

satshacopter 250X

An open source, low cost and fabbable quad X drone.

What will you design?

Step 1

A website teaching Fab lab members

“How to build a modular drone for a conservation mission from scratch”

Step 2

Parametric CAD files for a first prototype

(to test drone performance)

Step 3

Build and test a conservation drone

Step 4

Bash script that modify the CAD files with the parameters from the website
