4. Computer controlled cutting

This week we covered primarily two types of cutting using CNC machine - Vinyl cutting and Laser Cutting

Laser Cutting

I created a few versions of the press fit models which was discussed in the class. Used Fusion 360 for the design and build up all the designs as parameteric. The objective of making the designs parameteric was to (i) play around with the depth of the notch to see the impace of depth on the strength of the press fit (ii) tweak the width of the notch depending on the thickness of the stock material being used.

I am facing some issues in exporting the fusion design file into the printer driver software, so have not been able to experiment with the cuts.
