Computer-controlled Machining

Hi pals..this week we`re going to make something big using machining processes...which will enact various machines such as the Rolland Modella,,Shopbot,,Hurco,,Hurrison,,Omax,,EDM,,MTM...
Personally I chose to work with Shopbot since its very User-Friendly and easy to get hang of..Each ShopBot includes: VCarve Pro ShopBot Edition and PartWorks3D software. VCarve Pro ShopBot Edition allows one to
design and create 2D and 2.5D parts, while PartWorks3D which I used creates toolpaths from the 3D design software of your choicei.e I used CorelDraw v7 .
Both programs simulate the cutting of parts so you can verify they will be created just as you intend. Also included: ShopBot control software that will have your tool cutting designed parts in no time.
I find Shopbot perfect for any machining task because it offers extra software packages for use in signmaking, cabinet making and more. Aspire by Vectric is one of Shopbot`s most popular—great for designing and
machining carved decorative panels and doors, custom millwork, moldings, signage, dimensional logos, jewelry, custom gifts and much more.
Personally I settled on machining a custom-made table using Coreldraw, perfect choice since the Shopbot mostly handles vectors..

Ok after designing the model I saved in DXF format(alternatively PDF,,DWG,,etc) and proceeded to open with PartWorks3D software for toolpath setting,,cutting depth,,spindle adjustments..after everything was clear enough
I used Shopbot Console to import the final model for cutting into the machine itself..In the console I used the keypoad for XYZ axes adjustments on the platform and setting the zero/home reference..confirmed the material
thickness which was 0.7 inches..afterwhich I proceeded to cut the design..

I fit the parts together with aid of woodglue..and the final design was done
