Applications and Implications

Hallo Pals...this week we dwelt on Applications and Implications majorly focusing on proposition of the Final project and its documentation..The major criteria enacted in this week's task was to document a project
which will ultimately intergrate most if not all the areas covered in the curriculum which can be shortly summarised as computer-aided design,Digital Fabrication(3D Printing, Molding and Casting also Composites) ,
electronics design and production, hardware and embedded programming, computer-controlled cutting and machining, mechanical and machine design etc. just to mention a few.
Personally I had too many ideas in mind which I`ll definately implement after the program but meanwhile I settled on a Smart/automated Table which will duly interact with its surroundings including Me and You.

The working principle basically is it inputs through buttons and keypad and Outputs via LEDs in form of a Clock and sound from Speakers..Motion and Distance sensors will be enacted and certainly remote communication will also feature in the final Product.

Also it`ll be prudent for me to specifically mention that the project covers almost all the areas we`ve covered:
Computer-Aided Design- The whole vector, 2D & 3D design files I`m using Corel Draw, Inkscape and Rhino,,
Computer-Controlled Cutting- the clock frame will be cut using Epilog Mini Laser Cutter and the labels using the Vinyl Cutter.
Computer-Controlled Machining comprising skeleton and structure will be cut out and engraved using the ShopBot and partial parts using Rolland Modella.
Electronics Production & Design Certainly the skills I acquired from the design and production of electronics will be pushed to the limit as I tackle all the circuitry in My project.
Embedded Programming All the programming of the subsequent boards will source joy from week 7`s task.
Input and Output Devices Will also be present in form of buttons, sensors, sounds, light and so on
In the Molding & Casting, 3D scanning and printing, Networking and Communications skills will be enforced within the project in one way or another.

About who has done what beforehand I truly came up with a sketchy Project layout and underlying principles from my thoughts and problem at hand which was to save time while on my desk..It was only after googling that
i found related ideas but not my exact Project as such so I proceeded with executing my set Plans.

The materials required range mechanical to electrical such as Wood,Plywood,MDF,Acrylics,Machinable Wax,some sort of Pastes(molds&casts, varnishers, resin) and the Components will certainly reign from Input devices, Output devices, ICs-ATTINY 44,45,,resistors, Capacitors, wires, Programmers, Compilers, Fabrication tools etc. actually I realised some aspects pop-up during the implementation so I`ll be updating the materials and components as I finish my project.

As for the cost, luckily almost all the raw materials are available in the lab and since I`ll be fabricating most of them I`ve done a pre-analysis it will come down no more than 200 USD..of which its fair enough.

The parts especially mechanical ones I`ll use Shopbot 2D milling, Laser Cutter etc and systems I`ll mostly use Rolland Modella and appropriate softwares.Otherwise please use my weekly progress as reference for any shortage of info.
The task at hand that needs finishing are the PCB boards for circuitry and majorly the installation of components into one product as for now they`re still scattered in design processes and most impotantly finshing the application program and running It.
