About Me
Hi, I'm Heidi! I'm a student in the Fab Academy 2019 cohort. I love to make and build things. I'm in this program because I'd like to learn how to make products from scratch. My personal goals for this program are to take an idea, learn how to refine and simplify it into a feasible end product, and design and build it to be functional, beautiful, and useful. I have a unique development environment. Click here to learn more about my development environment.
I've designed and built houses, off-grid solar power supplies, hydroelectric generators, gardens, bicycles, kitchens, camping gear, tools, clothing, shoes, books, compost toilets, furniture, chicken coops, leather products, and many other things.
I live in Amsterdam and I work as a mobile app developer. I build iOS and Android apps and this is my first website! Before I became a programmer, I lived off-grid in a cabin in a roadless valley that I designed and built from 100% salvaged materials where I lived for 4 years. I grew and foraged most of my food and I hunted or fished all of my meat.
