13. Applications and implications¶
Propose a final project masterpiece that integrates the range of units covered, answering: I stopped working at LoRA, since there is a limitation for ESM bands at local registration. The available bands at 415 Mhz, 868 MHz, 915 Mhz are not free at all, since you need a special permission from the regulator in order to work with it. The only available band is above 923 Mhz.
-
What will it do? I had noticed that several soccer fields of grass and concrete are full of metal parts. Unfortunately kids could get a wound. Since these metals are everywhere some of them could get oxide on them. It may cause tetanus disease.
-
Who’s done what beforehand? Parents used to pick up metal parts but it is not enough. An autonomous vehicle is needed in order to complete all the activity constantly at least once per month.
-
What will you design?
-
What materials and components will be used?
-
Where will come from? Several of the materials are available at Fablab. Others will be buy from local stores.
-
How much will they cost?
-
What parts and systems will be made?
-
What processes will be used? Molding and casting for the tires. Laser cutting for the car structure. All the electronics will be made with the exception of the ultrasonic sensor for distance.
-
What questions need to be answered?
-
How will it be evaluated?
Your project should incorporate 2D and 3D design, additive and subtractive fabrication processes, electronics design and production, embedded microcontroller interfacing and programming, system integration and packaging.
Where possible, you should make rather than buy the parts of your project Projects can be separate or joint, but need to show individual mastery of the skills, and be independently operable.
