This week I will try accomplishing some of the important task of my final project and sourcing all the materials that I will need. I decided to start with the design and production of my the casing. You can find more details about how and why below:
The task I started with is the design and printing of the casing. Since I remain with few days and the printing process can take longer. I started with this, I design the casing in solidworks:
Started the printing process, it shows 36hours, so finger crossed, I hope there won't be issues with electricity:
It printed the whole night and the following day the whole casing was produced. After, I realised that I didn't put a space for the moisture sensor, but I will figure out how to include that on the casing. For now, I can't afford repeating the process.
What tasks remain?
For the remaining time, I'm going to focus on the electronics side. I will design my PCB according to the casing I produced. The big question is: how will the sensor be located?
I realized that It could have been better if I started with the electronics side, but I was worried that I may not get the casing on the right time, taking longer to be printed or the electricity missing in between the printing process. Now my next challenge is to make sure that I design a PCB that can fit in the box.
